Buxfer: Budget & Money Manager App Reviews

Internet based

Its nice except for the fact that its internet based. So there is no way to use it offline

Disappointing

Key features are not free and not available on iPhone.

Corrupted version

App is generally good, but this version has a problem loading and is unusable.

Probably the best but...

Probably the best app & online service. But app stop working (cant add any transaction) in 2012 :( please fix it.

Web

Not an application.

Worked great, now doesnt

Very disappointing. Ive been tracking for 6 months now the mobile version no longer functions correctly. Hope they fix.

What a horrible app

This app is abysmal. What a shame. Buxfer is my favorite finance tracking tool and I am quite surprised how terribly they handled this app. I couldnt even find a way to see anything except the dashboard.

Love Buxfer

I found Buxfer online when looking for a viable alternative to mint which wasnt meeting my needs. Theyve got a wonderfully clean and customizable platform and this app is great extension of it

Terrific app

Finally a true app for Buxfer. This makes it much easier to use than the website as it will remember your credentials. So what is a great online service has now become a great mobile service for accessing my finances.

I cant add my DCU bank :-(

This app is great and Ive always wanted to give it a shot but I guess its kind of hard if I cant add my bank (Digital Credit union). Other than that Id love this app.

Ok, but could be better

Ive been waiting patiently for this app to come out, and was thrilled to see it finally available, but am somewhat disappointed. I like the interface, as it is much easier to move around than the mobile website was. I was surprised how slow the app seemed to load data though, even on a very fast wifi connection. Also, having to go into each account to start a refresh is a pain. It would be great to have one button that would update all acounts, or auto-update on load. Otherwise, an ok app, an one I would happily rate 5 once the speed and update issues get fixed.

This app is great!

It is truly helpful in managing my finances, and the syncing of my bank account information is quick and constant. I would recommend it to everyone.

Not there...

This app isnt much more then a dedicated web browser to the iPhone version of buxfers site. Id like to see a real native app that can record stuff offline and push those transaction online, as well as some sort of offline caching. Anyhow, no sense to me to use this over the bookmark in Safari.

Good but needs improvement

I give it 3 stars for being better than quicken online and their app. Buxfer does what I want it to do: get my latest acct balance and updates it every night. Provides reports on what I am spending and where. The issues I have is that the app is basically a clone of the mobile web page and it draws/renders the interface badly when moving between screens or looking at transactions. Also, it runs slow. The mobile page actually runs better so the only benefit to the app is not having to log in all the time. Fix these issues and I give it 5 stars.

Total garbage. Save your bandwidth and time.

This is not even mediocre! It is a total abomination! I dont get companies that decide to cut through as many corners as they can to put outthere a complete garbage that tarnishes their image. This app opens up into what seems to be a native screen with your accounts neatly listed, and a few tiny icons across the top. However, once you drill into one of your accounts, they load it into a web browser window and it is the content of their mobile online version! More over, this window does not have a Navigation bar across the top, so there is no way you can get back to that first "native" screen. The web content loads with super small size of fonts, and you need to zoom in using pinch gesture, which results in a screen that does not fit the screen size and yo need to do a lot of panning around. Did I mention that it was slow? I mean I dont get them, why would anyone need this weired hybrid of a single native app screen and the rest via a browser? I would rather use the mobile web version, it is by far more user friendly. To Buxfer developers: instead of wasting your time and money putting together totally useless mediocre iPhone apps, spend your effort enhancing your mobile web version!

Ok not bad

I use Buxfer through my desktop but glad to see thta they have an app for it. It is not as good as other apps. But something is better than nothing.

Needs offline access

Much improved from previous versions. The app is no longer a mobile site in a wrapper, its totally native. Ui is great, quick. It absolutely NEEDS to be able to access the app offline, though - that is keeping us ipod touch users from using it.

useless

total waste of time. none of them work properly on the app...

What good is an app that does not work?

Keeps asking me to "enter a valid description" when I hit submit even though the description is exactly what I would write and would work on the actual website.

Not bad

Needs a few minor improvements, but serves as a great companion to the platform.
